A song from South Africa!! My friend made me listen this song and it got stuck ... From the band Freshlyground, this is their first single in 2010 album "Radio Africa". Catchy tune and fresh voice - I started liking this music already.

Kuch Kariye..

I watched "Chak de India" again yesterday! This is one of the different movies of 2000's. Not a typical bollywood - Shahrukh  film but a nice underdog and team building story. This song is an inspirational song which tells you to go and show the world that you can do something - you can win!! Fast track composition by Salim-Sulaiman and pumping lyrics by Jaideep Sahni! Sukhvinder Sing totally rocks this song - expressing all the emotions and touching your heart!

This is one of the legendary songs in the history of Hindi cinema. Great movie of 1969 "Padosan" produced by  Mehmood. Movie had ensemble cast of Sunil Dutt, Mehmood, Saira Bano, Om Prakash, Keshto, and one and only Kishor da! This song is sung by Kishor in real and on screen too - Sunil Dutt "Bhola" lip sinking to impress the girl next door!!

From the film "Muqaddar ka Sikandar" this emotional song was sung by Kishor! This movie was one of the biggest hits of that year and still remembered for it's great acting and songs by Kalynaji-Anandji.

Dhuan dhuan ho raha hai sanam ..

I don't know how many of you like Anu Malik as a music director or as a singer but some of his songs were good. This song is sweet and just goes smooth .. from one of his albums "Dhuan dhuan ho raha hai sanam .." I am not sure why I remembered this but I still do and come back in mind so enjoy a nice song with  a cool video in Swiss locals.

Tum bin jaon kaha .. And Haila Haila ..

Today 2 songs were in my head ... there is not pattern in this mix, and I could not find why I was thinking of these two completely not connected songs. First is versatile singer Kishore Kumar - from movie "Pyaar ka mausam" This song was sung by 2 singers in the film - Kishor da and Md. Rafi, but my choice is Kishor da especially when he sings the starting "Ha ha ha" . Kishor's full version is not in the movie, only short version is there but I could find the full version in audio!





Second song is from movie "Koi mil gaya". Composed by Rajesh Roshan and filmed on Hritik Roshan and Preity Zinta. Funny dance of Hritik and catchy tune.

This song was never actually added in the move but you can still hear it on background !! A good to listen - again can not leave A R Rahman .. From the movie of same name "Jaane tu ya jaane na"

Ho gaya hai tujhako to pyaar sajna ..

Udit Narayan and Lata Mangeshkar use their magical voice to make this song more and more lovable. They give full support to the melody of Jatin-Lalit and lyrics of Anand Bakshi. "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" is one of the greatest hits in Indian cinema history. I still remember watching that movie in Theater in 2008 and it was actually released in 1995 - I believe the longest running film in history !

Pappu can't dance ..

Anupama, Benny Dayal, Blaaze, Tanvi, Darshana, Satish Subrahmaniam, Aslam .. these are singers for this great dance number - Pappu can't dance. The super-hit of 2008 "Jaane tu ya jaane na"  had this awesome song composed by ARR (A R Rahman). Lyrics were written by the director himself Mr. Abbas Tyerwala (Yup that's his name). A hit start of Imran Khan's career.

Kucchi Kucchi ..

From the film "Bombay" this song is sung by Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthi (Subramaniyam). I remember the days when I used to listen this song all the time after buying the Audio-Cassette. This was my second encounter with A. R. Rahman after his masterpiece Roja. And this was no disappointment. Yup and it has a nice use of children voices.

खरच अशा नुसत्या भावना समजल्या असत्या तर .. काही कळत नाही भावना समजतात कि नुसतेच गाणे ऐकतो ? थोडी तरी भाषा माहिती असेल जर १ २ शब्द येत असतील तर मात्र नक्की कळेल.

Bawara ...

The first Marathi song in here! Rishikesh Kamerkar's music and his soothing voice too .. comes in "Kshanbhar Vishranti". Not so new plot but a fresh treatment and decent acting of all actors made this movie a good watching. And not to forget all songs were great! It's like they are again making better songs in Marathi now!

Another Sufi touch from Gulzar. Searching for his lover without which everything is like desert. Or can I say he is searching for his god and feels like this world is nothing without god ... Don't want to get in the philosophical mood now. Just listen music from A. R. Rahman which makes you feel that you are also part of that search ... Rani Mukerji in her golden time - I personally never liked Vivek Oberoi.

Kacchi kali

90's songs and singers were good or bad .. they used old songs or created new songs .. still you can't deny they started a new pop music trend in India which was non existent before. One of them was/is Anaida. This song is from her album "Chori Chori". She sings with funny accent but a good voice and good song to listen.
